Okay, I think I might officially have my first blog! :)
My name is Angely Aguilar. I have a wonderful husband and am a mother of three wonderful children, Moises, Catalina, and Estela. I am so excited to have my very own blog and to have write my first post. I am currently at the hospital because my grandmother had a procedure done.
My vision of technology in the classroom is to allow students to use as much of it as possible. However, in order for me to allow students to use it, I must become comfortable with it myself. I really like blogger. I can set up a blog for my math class and let students ask questions, answer questions, or make comments about mathematics.
My goals in this class is to learn about the different tools that are out there that can help me make my classroom a 21st century classroom. I want to provide a different way for students to learn. I know that students love technology and so I need to find a way to bring it into my classroom. I am confident that I will accomplish that in this class since I have already learned of a few sites that I can use. I'm very excited about the things that I have learned already.
Hello, Angeley! And congrats on your first blog!!
ReplyDeleteYou said taht you want to bring technology into your classroom, but first you need to be comfortable with it. I want to say that you don't have to be comfortable with it, but rather WILLING to be comfortable. Technology is always changing, advancing, and updating- so we will never be as comfortable as we want to be. That shouldn't stop us from bringing it to the students, who will typically pick it up faster than we will.
Hope to see a second blog from you :)
Cassandra
Hi Cassandra,
ReplyDeleteI agree that we will never be as comfortable as we want to be, but I see it as if I know what's out there, then I can continue looking for new technology. It's like when I first found out about web 2.0 tools, I began searching for more things like vokis, wikis, etc. I'm still not completely comfortable with them, but at least I know that they are there, so I can incorporate them into my class somehow. I'm thinking of having a voki give my class their math minutes. I think that would be more fun than just reading it off the board...maybe :)
